Greg Proops

Greg Proops was born October 3, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona.  His family moved in 1964 to Lancaster, California and then to the Bay Area in 1966.  He went to San Francisco University where he studied acting and did improv.  He performed in the stand up team of Proops and Brakeman with his friend Forrest Brakeman.  He also performed with an improv group called Faultline which featured Mike McShane, a long time cast member of the British show “Whose Line is it Anyway?”.

In 1989 he went to the U.K. to do the show “Whose Line is it Anyway?”.  He now appears regularly on the American version of Whose Line.

Greg had done voiceover work on Tim Burton’s “‘Twas a Nightmare Before Christmas” and on “Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace”.  He also hosted a game show on Comedy Central called “Versus” and has appeared in the shows “3rd Rock From the Sun” and “Family Matters”.  In addition, he has had numerous stand up appearances in clubs, TV shows, and cable specials.  He currently hosts “Rendez-View”, a dating-type show where he and guests analyze a pre-recorded date.
